I founded the Gézengúz Foundation in 1990 in order to heal and rehabilitate infants and young children suffering from birth injuries and congenital developmental conditions or diseases. My primary whish was to introduce a holistic approach to the traditional early intervention methods and services.
The Foundation’s aim is to provide complex services including medical care, pedagogic development as well as psychological and social support.
We designed nice, friendly centres for families to feel at home. In these centres excellent colleagues use their knowledge and expertise to help the children develop and reach their full potential. Our centres, for example the ’Cseppek Háza’ in Budakalász, near Budapest, were designed in a way that creates a warm atmosphere to its patients so that both they and their families may have a positive and joyful experience during the therapy sessions.
We also welcome the healthy siblings and peers of the children we treat. We think that the integration of children with and without impairments in our group sessions will help all of them and their parents accept differences and reduce social isolation. We want to show to the children that we all are like spring flowers: colourful and wonderful.
We believe that successful early intervention can only happen in close cooperation with the families. Therefore we pay attention to fostering the parent-child relationship.
In our complex approach we emphasize prevention as much as conducting therapy. Thus, services provided for premature children are an essential part of our work.
Research, teaching and international cooperation with other institutions are also parts of our daily life.
Our team brings major positive changes and development to the lives of hundreds children a year.
