Our history

1990-1995

  • In 1990, Dr. Judit Schultheisz created Gézengúz Foundation. In the same year, she developed the Gézengúz Sphere, the improved version of which is the Huple.

  • In 1991, our rehabilitation activities were given a home in a day care center in Budapest’s 3rd district.

  • We launched neuro-hydrotherapy groups in several public swimming pools.

  • We became part of graduate and postgraduate education at Bárczi Gusztáv Special Education College.

  • The foundation opened its therapy department in the city of Győr. In the local public swimming pool, we launched two hydrotherapy groups.

  • We introduced family therapy.

  • Via a PHARE project, we established cooperation with the De Kangoeroe early intervention center in Belgium: four hydrotherapy groups were launched in Gent under our professional control.

1996-1999

  • We created a travelling exhibition titled „Water moments” from our underwater pictures.

  • We modernized our rehabilitation facility to allow for early hydrotherapy of premature and low-weight babies.

  • We established a new hydrotherapy location in the Kőbánya district of Budapest.

  • We organized family vacations including professional therapy in the village of Gánt.

  • Under the name „Healthy children for disabled children”, we introduced a series of early spring festivities that have become tradition by now

  • We developed architectural and therapeutic plans for an Infant Rehabilitation Cente

  • We created educational material on early hydrotherapy for the Rehabilitation Swimming Instructor training at Bárczi Gusztáv Special Education College. We actively participate in theoretical and practical teaching activities within the training.

2000-2003

  • April 26, 2000: we laid the foundation stone of the Infant Rehabilitation Center in Budakalász.

  • Our Győr site became a location for practical education at Bárczi Gusztáv Special Education College.

  • The Foundation became a professional practice site for the Physiotherapy Faculty of Semmelweis University of Medicine (“SOTE”) as well.

  • We launched a new therapy group for children with multiple disabilities, in a special integrated manner.

  • The Foundation began offering early ultrasound diagnostics. Our pediatric radiologist performs cranial, sciatic (hip)and abdominal ultrasound examinations from newborn age.

  • Together with the Eurlyaid organization, we arranged a conference for professionals from Hungary and abroad under the title „Dialogue, or passable roads”.

  • We began organizing a screening program, within which our professionals conducted locomotive (sensomotoric) and psychological screening tests during 2004 in small villages located close to our sites.

2004

  • A children rehabilitation centre that draws up with the European standard - the "House of Drops" (Cseppek Hàza) - was opened.

  • Our Foundation invited entries for a photo competition, which was named "The drop". We received 570 art works from 201 competitors. The evaluated photos had been exhibited in the "Mucsarnok" from the 23rd till the 31st of October, and could be seen in different locations around the country as a travelling exhibition afterwards.

  • Our department in Gyor was given an unused surgery building by the local government. Renovation works have started with the support of Vodafone Hungary Foundation.

2005-until now

  • On the 5th of March 2005, we handed over the so-called "Gezenguz Haz" in Gyor with an opening ceremony.

  • The exhibition of the photo competition "The drop" moved from town to town. The evaluated photos had been sold by auction on the 26th of May 2005. The auction took place at the "Mucsarnok", and was organized by the Istvan Csok Gallery.

  • Alongside the children attendance, we organize children’s day and Christmas feast events for families.

  • We have broadened our services with intensive weekly in-house therapy taking place in the "House of Drops" for patients who come from areas without premature (early childhood) therapy facility.

  • During the September of 2009 a recreation area (playground) has been built at the "House of Drops" with the help of our supporters and from donations.
